The Phillies promoted Miller from Single-A Clearwater to High-A Jersey Shore on Monday, Jonathan Mayo of MLB.com reports. Miller had been stuck in a 6-for-41 slump at the plate over his final 12 games at Clearwater, but he didn't compromise his plate discipline amid the dry spell, as he had still walked at a 20.4 percent clip. The 20-year-old was able to force his way to Jersey Shore after slashing .275/.401/.483 on the season at Clearwater while going 9-for-10 in stolen base attempts. He's regarded as one of the top lower-level prospects in the Phillies' system.... See More ... See Less

Phillies' Aidan Miller: Best hitter in Florida State League
Miller is slashing .337/.420/.570 with four home runs, nine steals and a 19 percent strikeout rate in 100 plate appearances for Single-A Clearwater. Seen as one of the top prep hitters in last year's draft, Miller played only 10 games at Single-A last year, and he has dominated in a return to the Florida State League. Only Nick Morabito, who is over a year older than Miller and has since been promoted to High-A, has a higher wRC+ among qualified FSL hitters, so Miller should be getting his own promotion to High-A in the coming weeks. While most evaluators expect Miller to end up at third base, he has played only shortstop and designated hitter thus far in pro ball.... See More ... See Less

Matt Gelb@MattGelb3H agoPhillies decided before they flew to London that J.T. Realmuto would have knee surgery this week. They brought an understudy with them to England to help the transition. There is no replacing Realmuto, but they're trying to do it in a calculated way: https://t.co/sGahgp46ff

Scott Lauber@ScottLauber6H agohttps://t.co/bFiKl9ZZhf The #Phillies survived two months without Bryce Harper in 2022 and kept winning this year sans Trea Turner. But losing J.T. Realmuto is different. On replacing their most irreplaceable player, via @PhillyInquirer ⬇️⬇️

Matt Gelb@MattGelb7H agoBrandon Marsh went to Reading and is working out with the Double-A club. Should appear in games there sometime this week. Trea Turner is ramping it up today. He could return this weekend, or Monday when the Phillies go home, Rob Thomson said.

Matt Gelb@MattGelb7H agoThe Phillies expect J.T. Realmuto to miss “about a month,” Dave Dombrowski said. He’s been playing with a small tear in his right meniscus. Realmuto thought he could push it but they decided to get the surgery done now.

Matt Gelb@MattGelb9H agoPhillies players often refer to J.T. Realmuto as the “backbone” of the team and, for an extended period here, they’ll have to do it without him. First update: https://t.co/hSknl0EBYB

Scott Lauber@ScottLauber10H agoWorth noting: The Phillies didn’t include a timetable for J.T. Realmuto’s return in their announcement about his meniscus repair. Not every meniscectomy is the same, and I’m not a doctor, but you typically hear about a 4-6-week recovery. Cristian Pache missed six weeks last year.

Scott Lauber@ScottLauber10H agoNot that it needs to be underscored, but wrote this in April about Realmuto’s place as the #Phillies’ most indispensable player. They’ll have to make do without him for a while now: https://t.co/RjlwicvT2s

Scott Lauber@ScottLauber10H agoJ.T. Realmuto will have surgery tomorrow to repair the meniscus in his right knee, the Phillies announced Tuesday. He will be placed on the injured list.

Philadelphia Phillies@Phillies10H agoThe Phillies placed J.T. Realmuto on the 10-day IL (retro to 6/10) with right knee pain. To fill his spot on the 26-man roster, Rafael Marchán was recalled from Lehigh Valley (AAA). Realmuto is scheduled to undergo right knee meniscectomy surgery tomorrow in Philadelphia.

Scott Lauber@ScottLauber14H agohttps://t.co/LfVX8EGNCV After two months of not getting tripped up by the competition en route to the best record in baseball, the #Phillies are trying to avoid stumbling over the unusual schedule around the London trip. Here’s how, via @PhillyInquirer ⬇️⬇️
