If Saturday is anything like the first two days of the 2024 NFL Draft, fans will certainly be in for a treat. A whopping 16 trades were made during the draft's first three rounds, with many more expected to take place during Rounds 4-7.
Despite various reports, there were no immediate trades during Day 1 of the draft. There was one trade that involved a top-10 pick, and that was the Vikings moving up one spot to select quarterback J.J. McCarthy. Minnesota then traded up six spots to select Dallas Turner, who was arguably the best pass rusher prospect in this year's draft.
Lions fans who were still in the crowd in Detroit roared when their team traded up with the Cowboys to select Alabama cornerback Terrion Arnold with the 24th pick. Despite trading back, Dallas was still able to draft Tyler Guyton, one of the draft's top-ranked offensive tackles.
Not long after that, the Chiefs decided to move up four spots (taking the Bills' first-round pick) to select speedster Xavier Worthy, who ran an NFL Scouting Combine record 4.21 second 40-yard dash. Buffalo then traded picks again, swapping picks with the Panthers, who used the 32nd overall pick to draft former South Carolina WR Xavier Legette. The Bills used that pick to select Florida State WR Keon Coleman with the first pick in the second round.
Night 2 of the draft included 11 trades, with seven taking place in the second round alone. Three of the biggest first-round snubs -- wideout Ladd McConkey and cornerbacks Cooper DeJean and Kool-Aid McKinstry -- were selected in the second round after their respective teams traded up to acquire them. McConkey was selected by the Chargers with the 34th pick, while DeJean and McKinstry were taken by Eagles and Saints, respectively, in consecutive picks early in the second round.

The Jets have invested in getting QB depth behind Aaron Rodgers, and they traded up to do so. New York moved up 14 spots to take Florida State signal-caller Jordan Travis.
The Packers got aggressive in getting offensive line help, trading up five spots to select Duke C Jacob Monk.
The Eagles have traded up to select the son of a former Pro Bowler. Philadelphia has drafted Clemson LB Jeremiah Trotter Jr., whose father was a third-round selection of the Eagles in 1998 and played four years with the franchise.
The Lions moved up into the fourth round once again, this time to take Utah RB Sione Vaki.
The 49ers moved up to select Louisville RB Isaac Guerendo.
The Lions gave up a future third-round pick to select Giovanni Manu, an offensive tackle from British Columbia
The Texans took Ohio State tight end Cade Stover, who moved from a linebacker to his current position.
The Dolphins took Tennessee running back Jaylen Wright, who had the second-fastest 40-yard dash among running backs at the combine.
The Packers selected Oregon safety Evan Williams at No. 111.
The Broncos added Oregon wide receiver Troy Franklin, who will join Bo Nix on the Denver offense.
San Francisco traded up to acquire Kansas guard Dominick Puni, who did not allow a sack in a whopping 745 snaps last year.
Colts grab Pitt OT Matt Goncalves, who missed most of last year with an injury but was an Third-Team All-ACC choice in 2022.
Houston uses the pick to select USC DB Calen Bullock, whose 7 picks in 2022 led the Pac-12.
New York trades up to get the YAC King: Malachi Corley. The best WR still available is off the board.
KC moved up one spot to select BYU OT Kingsley Suamataia. Suamataia didn't allow a single sack in 361 pass block snaps in 2022.
Carolina trades up to grab the first RB in the draft in Jonathon Brooks. Brooks finally got his chance to start last year and averaged 6.1 yards-per-carry for Texas.
The Alabama standout and first-round snub is heading to New Orleans. McKinstry was asked to do a lot of things during his time at Alabama, including a presence on special teams.
Eagles receive: 40th, 78th, 152nd overall picks
Commanders receive: 50th, 53rd, 161st overall picks
Cooper DeJean's wait ends here. The versatile defender lands in Philadelphia. DeJean was an incredible HS athlete who scored 59 total touchdowns as a senior. Had two pick-sixes for the Hawkeyes in 2022.
L.A. uses the 39th pick to get their coveted pass rusher: Braden Fiske, who had five sacks during his final three games with the Seminoles.
DT Ruke Orhorhoro is the Falcons' pick. His family moved from Nigeria to Michigan when he was 9. Third-team All-ACC last season at Clemson.
Ladd McConkey is the Chargers' pick. His long wait is over, and he goes to a team that desperately needs a WR. Like Buffalo, the Patriots also selected a receiver with their new pick: Washington's Ja'Lynn Polk.
Welcome to Day 2 of the 2024 NFL Draft. As we get ready for the third round to start, here's a list of possible landing spots in the event that the 49ers trade either Deebo Samuel or Brandon Aiyuk.
The Panthers moved up a spot to select South Carolina WR Xavier Legette with the final pick of Round 1. Buffalo will now have the first pick in Round 2, with plenty of good receivers still available.
Kansas City uses the pick to take Xavier Worthy, a speedy wideout out of Texas who should help open things up downfield for Patrick Mahomes.
Detroit uses the pick to select CB Terrion Arnold, a very good prospect who wasn't expected to last this long. Tough DB who is a very good open field tackler.
The Cowboys use the 29th pick to select Tyler Guyton, one of the top OT tackle prospects in the draft and a player many expected Dallas to take if he was still on the board.
Vikings use the pick to select pass rusher Dallas Turner, who many projected as a top-10 pick. The Jaguars, despite trading back, still landed a top-ranked receiving prospect in LSU's Brian Thomas Jr. Thomas' arrival will help replace Calvin Ridley, who departed this offseason.
Vikings move up one pick to land J.J. McCarthy. The Jets used the 11th pick to select former Penn State OT Olumuyiwa Fashanu.
