Jankowski is not in the lineup for Friday's matchup against the Angels. The lefty-hitting outfielder will start from the bench as the Rangers take on lefty Tyler Anderson. With Evan Carter (back) banged up, Jankowski started the last three games in left field for the Rangers, going 3-for-10 in that stretch. Though Ezequiel Duran will take left field and bat seventh against Los Angeles.... See More ... See Less

Rangers' Travis Jankowski: Makes third start in four games
Jankowski started at designated hitter and went 1-for-3 with a double in Tuesday's 7-4 loss to Cleveland. Jankowski started for the third time in four games, as Evan Carter (back) remained unavailable. On top of Carter's absence, Wyatt Langford's hamstring injury has created a path to at-bats for the seldom-used Jankowski, who's taken advantage of the increased plate appearances. Since May 2, Jankowski is 9-for-31 (.290) with a stolen base, a double, five RBI and three runs scored over 12 games.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Travis Jankowski: Starts in left field Saturday
Jankowski started in left field and went 0-for-4 in Saturday's 8-3 loss to Colorado. Jankowski stepped into the lineup for Evan Carter, who developed lower-back stiffness Saturday. Carter, who has been the primary left fielder against right-handers, joined Wyatt Langford (hamstring, IL) as unavailable outfielders. If Carter faces an extended absence, Jankowski, Ezequiel Duran and Robbie Grossman are in the mix for starts in left field.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Travis Jankowski: Sets up extra-inning win
Jankowski swatted a pinch-hit home run in Thursday's 4-3 extra-inning win over the Cubs on Opening Day. The Rangers were headed for a loss at home when Jankowski launched his homer to lead off the bottom of the ninth to tie the game. That set up an extra frame where Texas completed the comeback. It took one game for Jankowski to match his home run total from 2023. He'll serve as a fifth outfielder and lefty bat off the bench. If given enough playing time, Jankowski might help a fantasy team in steals; he stole 19 bags (caught once) over 107 games in 2023.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Travis Jankowski: Sticks with Texas on one-year deal
Jankowski signed a one-year, $1.7 million contract with the Rangers on Friday, Buster Olney of ESPN reports. Jankowski made the team as a non-roster invitee last year and now gets a guaranteed contract after slashing .263/.357/.332 with one home run and 19 stolen bases over 107 contests. The 32-year-old outfielder could serve as the Rangers' fourth outfielder to begin the season, although Wyatt Langford's impending arrival might change those plans.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Travis Jankowski: Gets start in right field
Jankowski will start in right field and bat ninth Tuesday in Game 4 of the World Series at Arizona. Adolis Garcia (side) is not in the lineup after suffering an apparent injury in the eighth inning of the Rangers' Game 3 victory. This will be the first start of the postseason for Jankowski, who slashed .263/.357/.332 with one home run and 19 stolen bases over 107 games during the regular season.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Travis Jankowski: Loses hold of regular role
Jankowski is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Twins. Jankowski will be on the bench for the sixth time in seven games and appears to have lost hold of his role as a strong-side platoon outfielder while he's batted just .167 since the beginning of August. The switch-hitting Robbie Grossman seems to have supplanted Jankowski as the Rangers' primary left fielder.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Travis Jankowski: Sitting Monday versus righty
Jankowski is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Mets. The lefty-hitting Jankowski will sit out against a right-handed starting pitcher for the second day in a row, and he could be in danger of surrendering his strong-side platoon role while he's in the midst of a 4-for-24 slump at the plate over his past seven games. J.P. Martinez will pick up another start in the outfield after slugging his first career home run in Sunday's 7-6 loss to the Twins.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Travis Jankowski: Logs first hit since return
Jankowski went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Friday's 9-8 loss to Milwaukee. Jankowski snapped an 0-for-9 skid with a seventh-inning single -- his first hit since coming off the paternity list earlier this week -- then later had a run-producing double and scored in the ninth, as a Texas rally fell short. The speedy outfielder, who leads the Rangers with 16 steals, has slumped since late July; Friday's multi-hit effort was the first since July 25. Jankowski is batting just .111 (4-for-36) over the last 16 games with one stolen base during that stretch.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Travis Jankowski: Back with Rangers
Jankowski (personal) was activated from the paternity list Monday. Jankowski -- following the birth of his child -- missed the entirety of the series the Rangers played against the Giants over the weekend, but he is back with the club and will be available moving forward. He figures to reclaim his role as the regular left fielder against right-handed pitchers.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Travis Jankowski: Sitting versus lefty
Jankowski is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Athletics. Jankowski was on the bench Monday with left-hander Ken Waldichuk starting for the A's, and he'll remain seated Tuesday as southpaw JP Sears toes the slab. Robbie Grossman, Leody Taveras and Adolis Garcia are starting across the outfield for the visiting Rangers.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Travis Jankowski: Left out against lefty
Jankowski is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the A's. Jankowski has not started against a southpaw since early May, so it comes as no surprise that he was held out with lefty Ken Waldichuk on the mound for Oakland. Robbie Grossman will man left field for the Rangers on Monday.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Travis Jankowski: On bench again Saturday
Jankowski is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Marlins. Jankowski sat out Friday with lefty Jesus Luzardo pitching for Miami, and the outfielder is sitting again Saturday despite righty George Soriano taking the bump. Jankowski is struggling at the plate, going 1-for-17 with a double, four walks, two RBI and a steal over his last seven games. Ezequiel Duran will receive another look in left field while Robbie Grossman serves as the designated hitter.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Travis Jankowski: Sitting against lefty
Jankowski is out of the lineup Friday against the Marlins. Ezequiel Duran will start in left field and bat eighth as the Rangers get set to face left-hander Jesus Luzardo. Jankowski has drawn only 24 plate appearances this year versus southpaws, but he's made 214 plate appearances against righties.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Travis Jankowski: Out of Sunday's lineup
Jankowski is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Padres, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports. Jankowski will head to the bench for Sunday's series finale with lefty Blake Snell taking the mound for San Diego. Switch-hitter Robbie Grossman will start in left field and bat second.... Rangers' Travis Jankowski: Checks out of lineup
Jankowski is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Astros. The switch-hitting Robbie Grossman will get the nod over the lefty-hitting Jankowski in left field while the Astros bring southpaw Framber Valdez to the hill in the series finale. Jankowski recorded a pair of hits in both of the first two games of the series to bring his batting average up to .323 over 167 at-bats on the season.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Travis Jankowski: Logs 15th steal
Jankowski went 0-for-4 with a walk, a stolen base and a run scored in Sunday's 8-4 win over the Dodgers. Jankowski was one of just two Rangers starters to fail to log a hit in the contest, but he was able to make an impact in his lone trip on base. The outfielder has hit well in July, going 16-for-47 (.340) with seven steals over 15 contests this month. Overall, he's at a .316/.408/.405 slash line with 15 thefts, one home run, 21 RBI, 27 runs scored, nine doubles and a triple over 185 plate appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Travis Jankowski: Moves up to two spot
Jankowski is starting in left field and batting second Saturday versus the Dodgers. Jankowski gets the first opportunity in the No. 2 hole with Corey Seager (thumb) sidelined. It would be a boon to Jankowski's short-term fantasy outlook if he stays there if Seager needs an injured list stint, but currently the shortstop is listed as day-to-day.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Travis Jankowski: Sits against lefty
Jankowski is out of the starting lineup Monday against the Rays. After starting all three games of the Rangers' series with Cleveland over the weekend and going 4-for-10 with an RBI and two stolen bases, the lefty-hitting Jankowski will retreat to the bench while southpaw Shane McClanahan takes the hill for Tampa Bay. With Jankowski on the bench, Ezequiel Duran will slot in as the left fielder while Robbie Grossman enters the lineup at designated hitter and bats seventh.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Travis Jankowski: Extends hit streak, adds steal
Jankowski started in left field and went 2-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and a stolen base in Friday's 12-4 win over the Guardians. Jankowski made his third start in the last four games and has hit safely in eight consecutive starts, going 13-for-29 (.448) with three walks, four steals and eight RBI. He remains a rotation regular in left field and leads the team with 12 stolen bases.... See More ... See Less
