Rangers' Jonah Heim: Drives in four in twin bill
Heim went 2-for-7 with a walk, two runs scored and four RBI across both games of Wednesday's doubleheader split with the A's. After going 0-for-3 with a sacrifice fly as the DH in the matinee, Heim moved behind the plate for the nightcap and drove in three more runs. The 28-year-old catcher has four multi-hit performances in his last seven games, a surge that has boosted his slash line on the season to .300/.341/.425 with four homers, 18 runs and 26 RBI through 33 contests.... Rangers' Jonah Heim: Four-hit night
Heim went 4-for-4 with two RBI and three runs scored in Tuesday's 15-8 win over Oakland. Heim extended a hit streak to five games, during which he's 10-for-17 with four walks, four RBI and eight runs scored. The catcher ranks third on the team with 22 RBI and fifth in runs (16) over 31 contests. With a doubleheader coming up Wednesday, Heim will likely sit out the matinee.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Jonah Heim: Sends game into extra frame
Heim went 1-for-3 with a walk and solo home run in Sunday's 3-2 extra-inning win over the Royals. Heim knotted the game at two runs apiece with a ninth-inning home run that set the stage for Nathaniel Lowe's game-winning single in the 10th. For Heim, it was his fourth homer and first in 12 games. He's appeared in 29 of the team's first 35 games, which is a lot for a catcher whose bat has tailed off in August and September in each of the past two seasons.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Jonah Heim: Sitting Friday
Heim is out of the lineup for Friday's game at Kansas City. Heim started the previous six games and will receive a day off after going 4-for-19 with no extra-base hits during that span. Andrew Knizner will step in behind the plate to catch Michael Lorenzen.... See More ... See Less -

Rangers' Jonah Heim: Returns from bereavement
The Rangers activated Heim from the bereavement list Tuesday. Heim was away from the club for two games while tending to more urgent personal matters. Sam Huff had been up briefly to back up Andrew Knizner, but he's now returned to Triple-A Round Rock with Heim set to resume his role as the Rangers' everyday catcher.... See More ... See Less -

Heim went 2-for-4 with a double, a stolen base and a run scored in Monday's 1-0 win over the Tigers. Heim doubled and scored the game's only run in the fifth inning and has hit safely in four consecutive games. The steal, which is not a big part of his game, was his first of the season. Rangers' Jonah Heim: Goes deep Tuesday
Heim went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Tuesday's loss to the Athletics. Heim took Alex Wood deep in the second inning for his first home run of the year. It also happened to be the first home run the Rangers had hit against a lefty this season. Heim has had a sluggish start so far, hitting .237/.237/.368 with just three extra-base hits and five RBI in 38 plate appearances.... See More ... See Less -

The 29-year-old is up to three RBI on the year, though he has shown little power early on.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Jonah Heim: Spring debut one week away
Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said Heim won't make his first Cactus League start until Feb. 28 versus the Dodgers, Jeff Wilson of RangersToday.com reports. Heim hasn't dealt with any health issues upon reporting to spring training, but the Rangers are being careful not to overextend the catcher during camp after he served as the team's primary backstop in its run to the franchise's first World Series title this past fall. The 28-year-old should be able to get enough at-bats in during the spring to prepare himself for the start of the season, though Texas could still look to lighten his workload behind the dish to some degree early on in the campaign. Manager Bruce Bochy suggested Wednesday that the Rangers may look to carry three catchers on the Opening Day roster, with Andrew Knizner, Sam Huff and non-roster invitee Andrew Knapp in contention for backup roles behind Heim.... Rangers' Jonah Heim: Agrees to deal with Rangers
Heim signed a one-year, $3.1 million contract with the Rangers on Thursday to avoid arbitration, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports. Heim is in the first year of arbitration and was rewarded for a strong 2023 season. He was aided by a strong supporting cast in the Rangers lineup and finished with 95 RBI, but he still posted a career-best .755 OPS while also improving his ISO for the third consecutive campaign....
