McMillian (Achilles) has signed a one-year extension with the Patriots through 2024 worth up to $2.25 million, Field Yates of ESPN reports. McMillan is out for the 2023 season due to an Achilles injury, so this extension will keep him in the fold for another year. It is actually the second time in his career New England has opted to extend the 27-year-old for another season after he landed on IR for the year.... See More ... See Less

Patriots' Raekwon McMillan: Inks new deal with Patriots
The Patriots re-signed McMillan to a one-year contract extension worth up to $2.2 million Monday, Mark Daniels of MassLive reports. McMillan is now in line to remain in New England for at least one more campaign following Monday's agreement. The 27-year-old joined the Patriots in 2021 but missed the entire season due to a knee injury. He then returned in 2022 and amassed 35 tackles, one sack and one fumble recovery across 16 games.... Patriots' Raekwon McMillan: Playing in Week 2
McMillan (thumb) is active for Sunday's game against Pittsburgh. It's likely McMillan picked up his thumb injury during practice as he made it through Week 1's matchup at Miami without injuring himself. The linebacker played 41 defensive snaps and logged five tackles (four solo) during the season opener. After missing the entire 2021 campaign due to a torn ACL, McMillan will look to return to his inside linebacker role.... See More ... See Less -
Patriots' Raekwon McMillan: Ready to make impact in New England
McMillan (knee) said in May that he's "ready to go" after missing the entire 2021 campaign due to a torn ACL, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports. McMillan signed a one-year, $1.15 million deal with the Patriots last offseason, but he never appeared in a regular season game for his new team after tearing his ACL while covering a kickoff during an offseason practice. McMillan said, "it's been a long year for me, but we're moving forward. After sitting back and watching, I'm ready to go." The 2017 second-round pick recorded 177 tackles across 19 appearances during his first two seasons in Miami, but he served more as a depth piece with Las Vegas in 2020. New England lost Dont'a Hightower, Jamie Collins and Kyle Van Noy this offseason, so McMillan may operate as a starter, which could elevate him into fantasy relevancy in IDP leagues.... See More ... Patriots' Raekwon McMillan: Clean bill of health
McMillan (knee) is participating in OTAs, Mike Dussault of the Patriots' official site reports. McMillan missed last season after suffering a torn ACL during practice in August. The 26-year-old last played with the Raiders in 2020 and was more of a contributor on special teams than defense. How big of a role a healthy McMillan will play in the Patriots' linebacker rotation remains to be seen.... See More ... See Less -
Dolphins' Raekwon McMillan: Lands on IR
McMillan (hamstring) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, Cameron Wolfe of ESPN.com reports. With just two games remaining on the slate, it comes as little surprise that the injury suffered in Sunday's game with the Giants ends the 24-year-old's season. Andrew Van Ginkel saw a season-high 35 snaps in Week 15 and figures to see an uptick in playing time going forward.... See More ... See Less -
Dolphins' Raekwon McMillan: Leaves with hamstring injury
McMillan exited Sunday's game against the Giants with a hamstring injury. McMillan suffered the injury during the second half and is listed as questionable to return. Vince Biegel is in line to receive additional snaps, in the meantime.... See More ... See Less -
Dolphins' Raekwon McMillan: Sidelined at practice
McMillan did not participate at Saturday's practice for an undisclosed reason, Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports. It is unclear what injury McMillan is dealing with or how severe it is. The 23-year-old started all 16 games for the Dolphins last season, and once again figures to be in the linebacker rotation.... See More ... See Less -
Dolphins' Raekwon McMillan: Leads team in tackles
McMillan posted 10 tackles (seven solo) during Sunday's 17-7 loss to the Jaguars. In what has been a disappointing season for the Dolphins overall, McMillan's development can be seen as a rare point of optimism. The second-year pro, who missed his entire rookie season due to a torn ACL, has come on as a leader in Miami's defense down the stretch. McMillan will be a solid IDP play Week 17 against the Bills.... See More ... See Less -
Dolphins' Raekwon McMillan: Forces fumble in loss
McMillan recorded eight total tackles and a forced fumble in the Dolphins' 32-21 loss to the Lions on Sunday. McMillan tied with T.J. McDonald as the team's leader in tackles. After missing his entire rookie season to an ACL tear, the second-year pro has cemented himself as a starter in Miami's 4-3 defense and logged at least six total tackles in his previous four games. As McMillan continues to acclimate to the speed of the NFL, his IDP arrow is trending up.... See More ... See Less -
Dolphins' Raekwon McMillan: Nearing return to field
McMillan (knee) is expected to participate in the Dolphins' offseason program next week, Joe Schad of the Palm Beach Post reports. McMillan is on the mend from a torn ACL he underwent surgery for last August. It isn't certain how active he'll be in practices next week, but him being on the field in any capacity is a positive development for Miami. The 2017 second-rounder is expected to be the starting middle linebacker in 2018, making his rehabilitation worth monitoring in nearly all IDP formats.... See More ... See Less -
Dolphins' Raekwon McMillan: On schedule in recovery
McMillan (knee) is on schedule in his recovery, Joe Schad of the Palm Beach Post reports. "He's right on, or ahead of schedule," Dolphins general manager Chris Grier said Wednesday. "That's from the coaching staff, the trainers. He's in the meetings all the time. Just talking about how he is and how his approach has been. He should be out there and ready to go in May, out there doing everything and 100 percent." McMillan, the Dolphins' 2017 second-round draft pick, lost his entire rookie season to a torn ACL suffered in Miami's preseason opener. The bright side of this situation is that, given the timing of the injury, McMillan shouldn't need to miss any part of the offseason program.... See More ... See Less -
Dolphins' Raekwon McMillan: Suffers torn ACL
McMillan suffered from a torn ACL in Thursday's preseason opener against the Falcons, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. It is what the Dolphins feared after McMillan left Thursday's contest early, but an MRI on Friday confirmed the linebacker would be done for the season. Mike Hall, who appeared in all 16 games and recorded 33 tackles for Miami last season, could be promoted from backup to starter at linebacker in McMillan's stead.... See More ... See Less -
Dolphins' Raekwon McMillan: Listed as starter on depth chart
McMillan is listed as one of the Dolphins' starting linebackers on the initial depth chart for their base defense, Joe Schad of The Palm Beach Post reports. After McMillan's chief competition for a starting role, Koa Misi, went down with a season-ending neck injury early in camp, there was never much doubt that the rookie would be first in line to move up on the depth chart. Though projected starters Kiko Alonso (thumb) and Lawrence Timmons are more established IDP options at the position, it may not take long for McMillan to approach their level of production. The former Ohio State standout boasts excellent sideline-to-sideline speed and natural instincts, which helped him accrue 102 tackles during his final season in college.... See More ... See Less -
Dolphins' Raekwon McMillan: Could open season as starter
McMillan could start at linebacker for Miami this season, Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports. The Dolphins placed Koa Misi (neck) on season-ending Injured Reserve on Tuesday, which opens up a starting linebacker job. McMillan was selected in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft and may now be the favorite to take over for Misi should he perform well in training camp.... See More ... See Less -
Dolphins' Raekwon McMillan: Headed to Miami
The Dolphins selected McMillan in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft, 54th overall. McMillan (6-foot-2, 240 pounds) is a former top recruit who proved a standout performer in a tough Ohio State defense, finishing the 2016 season with 102 tackles, including seven for a loss. With 4.61-second speed, McMillan profiles as an eventual three-down player for the Dolphins.... See More ... See Less
