DETROIT (AP) Alex Lyon made 30 saves for his third career shutout, Andrew Copp scored his 100th goal and the Detroit Red Wings silenced the slumping Philadelphia Flyers 3-0 on Thursday night.

Dylan Larkin and Moritz Seider also scored during Detroitā€™s three-goal second period as the Red Wings bounced back from a 5-4 loss to Dallas at home Tuesday.

ā€œWe knew we screwed up the Dallas game and we had to be better tonight,ā€ Seider said. ā€œThey had a lot of shots, but they were on the outside and (Lyon) was huge. This keeps us in the (playoff) race and gives us a little bit more confidence.ā€

Copp's goal was short-handed, Larkin extended his points streak to 10 games and Lucas Raymond added two assists.

ā€œI think our mentality tonight was that we had to show up and play with confidence,ā€ Raymond said. ā€œGetting a shutout tonight gives us something to build off.ā€

Lyon had another shutout this season against New Jersey on Nov. 22. He was pulled after the second period against the Stars after giving up five goals.

ā€œHeā€™s playing quiet hockey,ā€ Red Wings coach Derek Lalonde said. ā€œHe doesnā€™t give up rebounds, he gets whistles and he makes the proper play on puck handles. He takes away a lot of the chaos.ā€

Samuel Ersson made 17 saves for the Flyers, who have lost four straight and were shut out for the second time this season.

ā€œItā€™s a good time for everyone to kind of look in the mirror, step back and realize whatā€™s made us successful as a team,ā€ Flyers forward Cam Atkinson said. ā€œIt clearly wasnā€™t our best tonight. ... We have to get back to getting dirty, playing with some arrogance and getting to the dirty areas to score some goals.ā€

Following a scoreless first period, Larkin gave Detroit a 1-0 lead at 1:37 of the second. Larkin knocked in a rebound after Ersson stopped a shot by Raymond.

Seider made it 2-0 with his sixth goal at 7:15 of the period. His shot from the point deflected off Morgan Frost's stick and fluttered past Ersson on his stick side.

Copp's milestone goal came at 10:08 with Seider in the penalty box. Michael Rasmussen won a puck battle behind the Flyers' net and passed it to Copp, who ripped a slap shot from the left side.

ā€œWeā€™re struggling to make plays,ā€ Flyers coach John Tortorella said. ā€œWe doubled them in shot attempts, I think we had 75 shot attempts. A number of them went wide and blocked shots, they did a good job there. But weā€™re just not developing much offense.ā€

INJURIES

Detroit forward Patrick Kane missed his fifth straight game due to a lower body injury. ... Owen Tippett, Philadelphia's second-leading scorer, was placed on injured reserve Tuesday due to a lower body ailment.
