Aranda isn't in the Rays' lineup Saturday versus the Blue Jays, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Aranda has gone 3-for-13 and scored three runs since coming off the injured list Tuesday, and he'll now get his first day off since returning. His absence will allow Harold Ramirez to serve as the Rays' designated hitter while batting third.

  • Joshua Lowe RF | TB

Rays' Josh Lowe: Day off Saturday

Lowe isn't in the Rays' lineup for Saturday's game versus Toronto, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Lowe has struck out six times in his last two games, so the Rays will sit him down Saturday and give him a chance to clear his head. In his absence, Jonny DeLuca will start in right field while batting fifth.

  • Rays' Richie Palacios: Not starting Saturday

Palacios isn't in the Rays' lineup for Saturday's game against the Blue Jays, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Angels' Kevin Pillar: Swipes two bags Friday

Pillar went 1-for-4 with a walk, a run and two stolen bases against Texas in Friday's 9-3 victory.

Pillar made the most of his two trips on base, notching a theft in each of the third and fifth frames. The veteran outfielder extended his hitting streak to five games, and he's been scorching hot during that stretch, going 11-for-20 with a homer, eight RBI, six runs and four stolen bases. Pillar has four career MLB campaigns with double-digit homers and steals, and he appears en route for a fifth with four long balls and six thefts in 28 contests this year.

  • Oswald Peraza 3B | NYY

Yankees' Oswald Peraza: Headed to Triple-A

Peraza (shoulder) was transferred to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to continue his rehab assignment Saturday.

Peraza went 2-for-16 with two solo home runs, four runs scored and a stolen base over 16 at-bats in five games with Double-A Somerset and he'll now advance to the final step of his recovery from the shoulder injury he suffered in February. The 23-year-old could return to the Yankees at some point during their four-game series with the Mariners beginning Monday.

  • Orioles' Ryan Mountcastle: Gets breather Saturday

Mountcastle isn't in the Orioles' lineup for Saturday's game against the Mariners.

Mountcastle will get a day to regroup Saturday after going 1-for-16 across his last four games. While he sits, Ryan O'Hearn will pick up a start at first base while Anthony Santander serves as Baltimore's DH, opening up a spot in the outfield for Austin Hays.

  • Zachary Neto SS | LAA

Angels' Zach Neto: Launches homer Friday

Neto went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in a 9-3 win against the Rangers on Friday.

The shortstop has homered in consecutive contests after going deep just once through his first 13 games in May. Neto is enjoying a strong month overall, slashing .308/.345/.519 with three homers, five RBI, seven runs and two stolen bases over 15 contests.

  • Gerrit Cole SP | NYY

Yankees' Gerrit Cole: Throws bullpen session

Cole (elbow) threw two simulated innings in the bullpen Saturday, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Cole has been slowly ramping up his activity over the past few weeks and his next step will likely be facing hitters in live batting practice. The reigning AL Cy Young winner has been out since mid-March while nursing nerve irritation and edema in his right elbow and he's been throwing off a mound since May 4. Pitching coach Matt Blake said after Cole's bullpen session Saturday that the right-hander was clocked throwing in the low 90s, but he is still likely multiple weeks away from making his return. At this rate, Cole's timetable to return looks like it could be mid-to-late June.

  • Taylor Ward LF | LAA

Angels' Taylor Ward: Goes deep again Friday

Ward went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Friday's 9-3 win against Texas.

Ward padded an already large Angels lead with a solo shot in the sixth inning. It was his second homer in his past two contests and gave him an RBI in three straight games. Ward has gone deep nine times through 188 plate appearances this year, putting him on pace so surpass his career-best mark of 23 long balls set two seasons ago.
